Mrs UK Crown & Glory

Hollie Hughes, beauty pageant competitor and reigning Mrs UK Crown & Glory is a huge supporter of Hullabaloobell Charity Events and has been an absuloute joy to have as part of our team. We asked her about her life as a beauty queen, mummy and charity worker. This is her incredable story;

"My journey into the pageant world started back in 2005, when I was approached on a night out. I was asked to compete in the finals of Miss Mansfield, one of the longest standing pageants. I have modelled since I was 13 years old, but pageants were all new to me then! Winning Miss Mansfield set me off into a new world that I immediately adored and I just knew I had found an incredible new hobby! The same year, I was competing in the finlas of Miss GB, which at 19 years old, was a life changing experience. Finishing 6th…I had the 'pageant bug'

The most enjoyable part for me is the moments I share with my family and friends because of the pageants. For the last 10 years the pageants have brought my family together giving us some of the best times. I am from a very busy family, so this is a privilege for us all! Being on stage and knowing I have that level of support behind me is just overwhelming. Now that I am a Mummy too, to have Ava watching in the audience is magical.

Only beauty queens will understand why we enter beauty pageants. Beauty Queens give so much back into the community that I think sometimes goes unnoticed unless you are familiar with with the pageant world. The competing on stage is only a small part of what we do. The charity work undertaken is remarkable and that is one of the biggest reasons I take part. I do enjoy every second, even if some moments the nerves and adrenalin combined leave me in panic hehe! I never do things unless I do them with 100% effort and enjoyment. Pageants are something I feel are just part of me, part of my personality. I do put myself under a lot of pressure for the pageants, but that is just me!

 Each pageant will have their chosen charity, all of which I have fully supported. I couldn't name a charity as better than the other. However I was lucky enough to meet some very important members of 'The Dean Puplett Appeal' last week, and for me,as a mother , any childhood charity will always reach my heart. To meet Dean Puplett and his family only made my charity work all seem very real. For the next year and more I will continue to fundraise for Dean's charity and work closely with him and his family at all my events. To witness the bravery from such a wonderful young man, I was honoured.

 I came into contact with Hullabaloobell Events in the last year during my reign as Miss Galaxy Nottinghamshire. I was asked to appear at a children's Frozen event to judge the fancy dress competition. It was a magical event, and the amount of people that attended was outstanding. The effort from the Hullaaloobell Events team was fantastic, so many creative ideas towards charity!

 Becoming a Mum nearly 4 years ago, I took a break from the pageant world. When Ava turned 3, I started to go back into my modelling work and soon enough I had the desire to be back in the pageant world. Resulting in me having more success than ever in the pageant world, Ava is my lucky star! Being a Mum has opened so many more doors to aid my fundraising, and I feel could reach out more to a while new community amongst parents, especially mums. I can only hope to inspire other Mums out there! I am a strong believer that a happy mum, makes a happy child, body and mind. gI have a whole new level of determination and drive, and I know thats because I have Ava and my family behind me.

I would also like to just put a few words in for some certain individuals that I couldn't have done all this without. My proud sponsor Bella Donna Boutique and Rubies Hair Boutique, who have always made me sparkle on stage. My new pageant director Hannah Hunter who is outstandingly inspirational and I can't wait for the year ahead we have together. Last but not least, my Dad, for all those kind words and for believing in me around the world and back again!"
